Project PH;Â follows the widely-accepted Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework for implementation of supports and interventions in schools. MTSS uses three tiers of support to assist all students at various levels. These three tiers include:

Universal, Majority of students (75-90%)
Tier 1 is for all students and consists of universal activities to help students build emotional and social skills. Programs such as PH; Circles, PH; Spaces, PH; Pause focus on Tier 1 intervention.

Secondary, Small groups of students (10-25%)
Some students need a little extra assistance in managing their mental health, and it is in Tier 2 that these students receive that help. These interventions are delivered via our PH; Hopeline and PH; Café.

Tier 3: Tertiary, Individual students (< 10%)
Some students have significant mental health challenges and they no longer respond to interventions and supports in Tier 1 or 2. PH; Bridges provides support to students belonging to Tier 3 by activating a crisis management protocol in their schools to ensure that these students have access to lists of local numbers they can call (NMCH 24/7 Crisis Hotline, Hospital Emergency)
Project PH; provides free and confidential support for Tier 2 students who wish to talk with anyone, other than their own peers & family members. Project PH; partners with peer volunteers, guidance counsellors, and various Parents-Teachers Associations (PTA) to provide Tier 2 students with more support options so they won’t feel alone in their emotional struggles.
